Know Jesus Personally

You may be searching for peace, wondering about your purpose, or simply wanting to understand who Jesus is. Wherever you are in that journey, you’re welcome here.

God loves you. Through His Son, Jesus, He invites you into a relationship with Him—one that offers forgiveness, direction, hope, and peace, even through life’s difficulties.

We’re Doug and Marcia, The Kindness Couple. Our faith shapes how we live and how we treat others. We created this page to help you explore what it means to know Jesus and take your next step.

God Loves You

God knows you personally. He knows your story, your struggles, and the things you wish you could change. You don’t have to earn His love or make yourself perfect before coming to Him.

The Bible tells us:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
— John 3:16 (ESV)

That love includes you. God sent His Son, Jesus, to bring us into a relationship with Him. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, He offers forgiveness and eternal life.

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8 (ESV)

God didn’t wait for us to become good enough. He took the first step toward us.

His invitation is for you. You can bring Him your questions and struggles as you begin to understand who Jesus is, what He has done for you, and what it means to trust Him.

A Life with Meaning, Direction, and Peace

Knowing Jesus changes how we understand our lives. We discover that we were created to know God, love others, and use what He has given us for good.

Meaning for your life

Your worth goes deeper than your accomplishments, possessions, or other people’s opinions. You matter to God. Through a relationship with Jesus, you begin to discover how your everyday choices, relationships, and gifts can serve His purposes.

Direction for your steps

Jesus said:

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
— John 8:12 (ESV)

Following Jesus means learning His teachings and putting them into practice. As you pray and read the Bible, you learn to seek God’s guidance in your decisions, your relationships, and how you respond to difficulties. You don’t have to understand the whole journey to begin taking a faithful next step.

Peace through life’s difficulties

Jesus also said:

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
— John 14:27 (ESV)

Following Jesus doesn’t mean you’ll never experience worry, grief, or hardship. His peace means you can face those experiences knowing you are loved and can turn to Him for strength. You can bring God what troubles you and learn, day by day, to trust Him with what you cannot control.

Begin Your Journey with Jesus

A relationship with Jesus begins with trusting Him. All of us have sinned—we have made choices that go against God’s ways and hurt others. We need forgiveness, and we cannot earn it by doing enough good things.

Jesus died for our sins and rose again. Through Him, God offers forgiveness and new life as a gift of grace. We receive that gift through faith: trusting Jesus as our Savior and choosing to follow Him as Lord.

You can respond to Him in prayer. Prayer is simply talking honestly with God. If you’re ready, you might say:

God, I need Your forgiveness. I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again. I want to turn away from sin and follow Him. Help me trust You and learn Your ways. Thank You for loving me and offering me new life through Jesus. Amen.

The words aren’t a formula. What matters is sincerely placing your trust in Jesus.

Take Your Next Step

Begin reading the Gospel of John, which tells the story of Jesus’ life, teachings, death, and resurrection. As you read, ask: What does this show me about Jesus? How can I respond?

Talk with God each day. Find a church that teaches the Bible, where you can ask questions, learn about baptism, and grow alongside other believers.

You don’t have to have everything figured out today. You can begin with an honest prayer: “God, I want to know You. Help me understand who Jesus is.”
